More men are Choosing Cosmetic Surgery

More men are making appointments to see a cosmetic surgeon than ever before. While female patients were the ones that were getting most of these treatments in the past, men have been taking a second look at their bodies and are ready to spend money on beautifying them. One of the surgeries that has become the most popular has been the brow lift.

A brow lift uses a Botox treatment that lifts a sagging brow to make the face have a more youthful appearance. This is a non-surgical procedure that numbs the nerves and tightens the skin so that the man looks younger with an uplifted brow.

The brow lift also improves the field of a person's vision according to Dr. Kode, a surgeon with the Launceston Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery Unit. This was reported and can be read at: http://www.examiner.com.au/story/1621257/more-men-opting-for-cosmetic-surgery/

These reports signify the ever-increasing concern that men have regarding their bodies and it is questioned how much the media plays a part in constructing the ultimate body image. While females in the past have been trying to get "the perfect body" or look, men generally left this reconstruction to the women.

Now men are reversing the trend and it will be interesting to see just how far it can possibly go. It's not likely that more men than women will opt for cosmetic surgery in the future, but that does not mean that it's altogether impossible.

The 6 - pack abs phenomenon has been growing throughout the last decade. It's not uncommon to see ads suggesting that a man really isn't a man without rippling abdominal muscles. These ads are promoting books and programs that can help a man get this look and ultimately end up with the girl of his dreams.

It's come to the point where fake 6 pack abs can be created by using liposuction; a cosmetic operation that removes fat from the body by suctioning it out. When liposuction is used in the abdominal area on a man it can create the defining abs that so many men are now aspiring to have.

Men also feel more wide awake after the brow procedure that raises a sinking brow and in many cases cause the eyelids to feel heavy. This is quite commonly chosen as a treatment for people like truck drivers that absolutely need to stay awake for prolonged periods of time.

For many men, cosmetic surgery has become somewhat like a celebration of beauty like it has for so many women in the past. Although it is generally accepted that society shouldn't be placing such high standards for the look of a person's body, whether it is female or male, it must also be understood that this is indeed the reality that we live in today.

Many will argue that the freedom that goes along with cosmetic surgery is well worth the cost. As long as freedom exists it should be a cause for celebration. When males or females feel better about their looks it can install a new feeling of confidence that cannot be found using any other method.
